Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. We would be happy to give you a tour of our facilities and answer any questions you may have about our services.
Anesthetic Surgical Services
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, including pulse oximetry, ECG, esophageal stethescope and noninvasive blood pressure monitoring, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Acupuncture
A certified veterinary acupuncturist is available by appointment. This ancient form of Chinese medicine has been found to be a valuable adjunct to conventional veterinary medicine. Please contact us for additional information.
Diagnostic Imaging Services
Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. Our ultrasound machine allows us, amongst other things, to further ascertain abnormalities found on radiographs, image internal organs, perform pregnancy checks and identify bladder stones.
Laboratory
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. In many cases we can have the results of a test for you within twenty minutes. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. Should your pet require a specialized, hard to find or flavored medication, we can arrange for it through the online pharmacy VetCentric.
Dentistry
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery. We can also demonstrate techniques for you to use to provide ongoing oral hygiene.
Individualized Flea and Tick Control Programs
We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet. Given the high incidence of Lyme Disease in this area, we will also review with you methods for safe and effective tick control.
Dietary Counseling
We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. For pets who have enjoyed too much of the good life, we can help you develop diet and exercise programs to help your pet lose weight. We stock an array of prescription diets to meet the special nutritional needs of pets with acute and chronic illnesses.
Behavioral Counseling
We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Boarding
We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. We provide food and blankets but you are welcome to supply any special treat, diet or toy that your pet would like to have while you are away. Our cat facilities have special resting shelves which many of our guests like to use while observing the daily activities of the hospital.
Emergencies
We are available to see emergencies during regular office hours. Please call the office to let us know you are coming so that we may be prepared for your arrival. If your emergency occurs after hours, call the Metropolitan Emergency Service at 610-666-0914.
